Inidia's Chandrayan 3

Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey.

ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 mission has launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 2.35 PM IST on Thursday, July 14.

The craft is expected to land on the moon on August 23.

India has since spent about $75 million on its Chandrayaan-3 mission.

Landing on the moon in one piece is difficult, and many space programs have failed.
