Mumbai: Sudipto Sen’s film ‘The Kerala Story’ has been banned by several state governments. Along with Bengal, this film has also been banned in Kerala. Also Tamil Nadu Theater Association has voluntarily boycotted the film. But voices have started rising from Bollywood against this ban on the film. After the objection of many celebrities, now the ‘Producers Guild of India’ has expressed displeasure over the ban of this film by issuing an official statement. He has written in his statement – ’Producers Guild of India’ expresses its dismay at the ban on ‘The Kerala Story’ in many states and opposes it.

According to the association, the censor board has the right to pass the film. If the board has passed it, then banning it is completely illegal. According to the Guild, only the audience has the right to decide which film to watch and which not. The film is being forcibly given political weight.
